Enabling Entrepreneurship & Business Development
Pathway To A Flourishing Economy
Entrepreneurship is one of my passions, it is in my DNA. I enjoyed my six years as president of the Barbados Small Business Association moving the association and members forward to improve business for them at a national level. We need another quantum leap forward in order to compete and succeed in today’s  knowledge and experience economic eras. That is the pathway for Barbadians to win at generating the income to provide a quality life of abundance.Â
Our creativity and innovation will birth products and services qualified for notice around the world, which can garner a market. We can do this. We will need an education systems with an entrepreneurial emphasis; access to affordable funding for start-ups and working capital; aggressive marketing programmes to penetrate and use the treaty opportunities to seek business to grow and transform our fortunes. In St. James South we have many  entrepreneurs and innovative young people bursting with talent and seeking opportunity for a chance to start or to expand. Working together we can strengthen skills and performance of your work teams; direct you to local and regional resources which assist businesses; and identify marketing strategies and support to move your product in Barbados and out to the region.  Building the spirit of risk and the discipline of managed risk will move entrepreneurship forward in St. James South.
I will work to:
Promote greater participation of a broader number of businesses especially small business in government contracts
Promote greater use of trade opportunities for businesses to export across the region
Support efforts to provide meaningful finance including working capital for businesses
Advocate for changes for tax policy which make for a better business environment
Advocate for increased entrepreneurial training and support services to assist young or new entrepreneurs to execute successful start-ups.
